I started my first JohnnyB Fitt B
oot Camp just over 2 years ago and it has completely changed my life. My husband and I had two young children at home and we decided that I would take time off work from a very rewarding job with the Robin Hood Association where I worked with people with special needs and specialized with the deaf.
Being a full time homemaker was a huge adjustment for me. I was overweight and missed family and friends. I signed up for Boot Camp as I thought it would be a way to get a work-out in and to socialize a bit at the same time. At first I joined primarily because I wanted to lose weight but as I lost the weight, I gained so much more.
After the First day of Boot Camp I was completely hooked. I remember the first class and the people that I met were encouraging and so friendly. I kept coming back and John and Barb would push us and make me accomplish things that I didn’t think were possible. After a year I was running 10km races and in 2008 I did the 5th leg of The Canadian Death Race in Grand Cache, Alberta.
Skydiving in September of 2008 was another thing I scratched off the “Bucket List” thanks to the support of friends that I have met at JohnnyBFitt Boot camp.
I have now completed my AFLCA certification and I am a certified Spin instructor and am honored to be part of the JohnnyB Fitt team. It is so rewarding to see fitness goals being accomplished, whether it’s running your first km, doing your first full push-up, or running your first marathon.
